Jorma Taccone, he of SNL’s The Lonely Island, is also the director behind some of the most underappreciated movies of the last 15 years, including Popstar: Never Stop Stopping, Hot Rod, and MacGruber. He’s back with something a little outside of his lane: Over Your Dead Body, a dark-comedy thriller about a married couple (played by Jason Segel and Samara Weaving, who decide to spend a weekend in a cabin to repair their relationship, only both are actually plotting each other’s murder.

It looks like a blast, and Timothy Olyphant (and Juliette Lewis) is the icing on the cake. It hits theaters on April 24th.

That might be the best trailer you’ll see this month, but there is some competition, including Lee Cronin’s (Evil Dead Rise) take on The Mummy, which is … a variation on Evil Dead where a little girl surfaces after surviving for eight years inside of a Mummy sarcophagus. It hits the week before Over My Dead Body on April 17th.

I’m also a big fan of Slanted, billed as The Substance meets Mean Girls, which feels right. Set in a high school, a girl of color decides to undergo a procedure to turn herself white so that she can win the title of prom queen. It stars Shirley Chen and McKenna Grace. It arrives on March 13th.

Apple TV has a new series called Imperfect Women, with a killer cast: Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, Kate Mara, Joel Kinnamon, and Corey Stoll. Kate Mara’s character ends up dead, and suspicion falls on everyone. My guess is that it’s Corey Stoll, because it’s always Corey Stoll. It’s coming on March 18th.

Finally, I leave you with the trailer for the much-anticipated (by a small but very fervent fanbase) series of the quarter: Deadloch season two. It’s been nearly three years, which is to say: It’s about damn time. It finally arrives on March 20th. It’s going to be a very good March and April.
